Well it has certainly been an exciting few month!  Life is finally starting to settle into a bit of a routine & the horses seem to be quite happy in their new home.  Both Shortie & Allie are doing a wonderful job of adjusting to their new lives as school horses and are taking care of our many new riders as well as teaching some more experienced riders!

We have recently welcomed many new riders to our Eden Equine family and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for a great month & a bit.  I would also like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who helped out while I had a nice retreat in Cuba with my husband for a week.  It goes to show you that maybe booking 9 months in advance may not be the best plan as life can change drastically.  But thanks to some lovely ladies, it all worked out!

Gadget as well is working out quite nicely.  Such a grown up boy, he went for his first hack around Aldergrove lake & then had his first jumping lesson all in one week!

Well as everyone is getting ready to spend some quality time with the family over the next few weeks I would like to remind you not to forget about the four legged members of your family!  They are just as much a part of it as anyone else.  So remember to show them your love....In Gadget & Abbie's case this means feeding them!  Ruled by their stomachs they are.  On top of a little Christmas baking at home this week, I also  hope to make some home made treats for the puppy & ponies.

So enjoy the time with the ones you love this holiday season & I look forwards to seeing you all in the new year.  Then it is time to start accomplishing those New Years resolutions & get started on this season's horse show goals!

Best of Luck & Lots of love to everyone & their families this season!

In light of our new move to Windsor Stables, we will be hosting an open house on Nov 13th from 10am-3pm.  Our open house will run in conjunction with Windsor's annual Trophy show.  Eden Equine will be sponsoring & presenting a trophy.

We will be in the barn looking to meet & greet old & new friends & clients.  Everyone will be able to meet our two school horses Allie & Shortie, as well as my new horse Gadget!  It's a chance for the family to come out & spend the day checking out our new facility, learning about the programs we offer & enjoying the show.  There will also be BOGO giveaway cards up for grabs.  Where if you purchase one lesson or monthly package, you get the other one for 1/2 price.  This is great for families & friends wanting to ride together or for anyone looking to get a great deal on lessons.

Also as I mentioned earlier, I have just bought myself a new horse!  Gadget (No Socks) is a 4 year old 16.2hh gelding who trained but never raced.  I am super excited to spend the next few months getting to know him! Thanks to Erin for helping me find him & to Lori for coming along & being my eyes on the ground!

November promises to be very exciting!

Well it's official! I have been trying to keep this quiet for awhile now, while I tried to get all my ducks in a row.  But now everything is lined up as best it can be and not only are we moving our "base camp" but I am acquiring my first 2 school horses!  As of Nov 1st, I will be moving myself & my horses to Windsor Stables on Fraser Hwy in Aldergrove.  Where now I will be able to provide a full range of services for my clients!

I am so excited! As I think I have been dreaming of this since I was 14, or yet even earlier than that!

More information on the 2 new additions will follow in the next week or so.  I am scrambling to get everything ready for them to move into their new home in time!

On a sadder note, the little mare I had on trial did not end up working out and I am back to the drawing board as far as my own horse is concerned.  Which is actually OK at the moment as I get my new venture off the ground.

I would like to take this opportunity to THANK everyone who helped this come together.  Which I must admit pretty much encompasses everyone in my life & all the good & bad experiences I have had over the years.  They have all helped build to this moment in one way or another.  To everyone who has helped & supported this venture directly, you all know who you are & I couldn't have done it without you.  So THANK YOU!!

I am off to take a computer break & walk the little one!

Sept 28, 2011

Well today was the first day with the "potential" new pony & it went very well.

She's seems to be a little stubborn, but loves attention.  Sometimes a little too much!

We took it nice & easy today with a simple w,t,c on the lunge line & all in all it was a success! Afterwards we went for a walk around the outdoor & down the road.  As much as I miss my Tedward (the mare's predecessor), this little lady is showing some nice differences that I'm looking forwards to working with.

We have somehow ended up being signed up for "jump day" at our barn with the "greenies" on Saturday.  Considering I'm not planning on riding till Friday, that could prove to be quite exciting!

On other notes, I got to watch some wonderful riders school their dressage mounts while I worked today.  I think I'm going to like going to work if I get to see that caliber of riding all day!  I am reminded of how much one can learn from observing on the side lines.

Until next Time
